Dean's Message

We will serve as a bridge to the society healthy in both mind and body.

According to a recent OECD health statistics report, Korea will soon become the world’s No. 1 country in terms of life expectancy. Infant mortality in Korea is also at a very low level globally. Based on these two most important indicators, Korea is already in the leading position.

However, Koreans’ self-assessed health level is relatively low as compared with other OECD countries. That is, while Koreans are physically healthy, they reckon that they are not.

There are tremendous amounts of people suffering from poverty and lack of hygiene across the globe. Health science is a sublime study that has a noble task of protecting people in poor conditions from the hazard of diseases. Health science is altruistic in itself.

We, Graduate School of Public Health at Korea University, are eager to do our best to carry out the noble mission and altruistic value of health science.

We, Graduate School of Public Health at Korea University, are also eager to become reliable guards of human health through community participation and health research until the day when Korea and the world will become truly healthy.

Graduate School of Public Health at Korea University celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2020.
It is the time we grow up and become more mature to accomplish the philosophy of freedom, justice, and truth at Korea University.

We invite all of you to be a part of the vision of a healthy world pursued by the Graduate School of Public Health at Korea University.

Welcome to the world of health science.

On the First day of August, Year of 2019
